As a political scientist spending my days evaluating the Swedish public social insurance system,
I´m clearly classified as an amateur, if not novice, in the field of photography. Nonetheless, I enjoy
travel immensely, and particularly enjoy places with pristine nature. Consequently, an empasis is on
landscapes and wildlife in my folders.
Ever since I started taking pictures around 1999-2000, I´ve become more conscious. And even if my
skills hasn´t improved as I wished since then, at least the equipment has: I started with a Canon
point-and-shoot camera, which I used for the Japanese folder. A few years later I invested in a
Nikon N80 SLR (pictures in the California (2002) and Miscellaneous folders), and 2004 made the shift
to a digital Nikon D70 (pictures in the Nortwestern USA and Rocky Mountains USA and some in the
Norwegian folder). I recently upgraded to a Nikon D200, which I used for some of my shots in the
Norwegian folder, and exclusively during my trip to California in May 2007. My lenses at this
time are a Nikkor AFS 12-24mm f/4; Tamron AF 28-75mm f/2,8; Tamron AF 90 f/2,8 Macro; Nikkor AF
80-200mm f/2,8; and and a Nikkor AFS 200-400mm VR f/4 and the converters Nikkor 1,7 and Kenko 2,0.
I use two tripods: A heavier Manfrotto (Bogen i the US) 055 Prob, and a light weight carbon
Velbon Sherpa with a magnesium ballhead while hiking. And I rarely leave home without a polarizer
and Galen Rowells 2 and 3 stops graduated ND Singh-Ray filters.
